What not to do while you wait
- Do not keep cranking the engine. It drains what charge is left and heats the starter motor.
- Do not jump-start from another car if the battery is swollen, cracked or smells of sulphur.
- Do not stand between your car and traffic on a highway shoulder.
- Do not disconnect the battery yourself on cars with battery management systems.

What if it is not the battery?
The technician tests the battery, terminals and starter circuit before replacing anything. If the fault is elsewhere, we will tell you, and you only pay for the visit and diagnosis.

If you are stopped on a highway, move to the hard shoulder or an exit if you can, switch on your hazards and stay behind the barrier. For your safety, call the police on 999 if you are stuck in a live lane.
